Abstract:Medical statistics is one of the most important basic courses of medical school, and its ideological and political education is in the early stage of exploration. Understanding the attitudes, awareness and suggestions of postgraduates on the ideological and political education in medical statistics course can help the course to better integrate the ideological and political elements, and is of great significance for the implementation of ideological and political education in the course. A total of 533 postgraduates were investigated. We found that 67.7% (361) of them supported the ideological and political education of medical statistics, and 77.3% (354) understood the ideological and political element, but there is still room for improvement. To improve the teaching effects of medical statistics and ideological and political education, it is necessary to strengthen the exchange of experience between different departments and between different teachers. It is necessary to formulate ideological and political promotion plans suitable for different types of graduate students. The teaching methods of medical statistics should pay attention to the flexible use of case sharing, combined with a variety of teaching methods. According to characteristics of medical statistics curriculum, the ideological and political elements should be fully explored, especially the scientific literacy education.
