Abstract: Through the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, this paper discusses the influence of TSCA on the teaching effect of college English debating course. The results show that, compared with the traditional assessment method, the application of TSCA in college English debating course can significantly improve students’ spoken English ability and critical thinking ability and help generate a high acceptance of this assessment method and a positive evaluation of the course.
